John Sneyd and Tom Beale: Club Members The Royal City Men’s Club-- Our past,Our Present and Future Directions Please join us for this special historical meeting as we celebrate our past, our present and finally, your input on future club directions. This will follow our Annual General Meeting. The presentation will be divided into three distinct parts… Part A… Tom Beale, our 2nd Club President will give a brief talk on the origins of our club and the trials and tribulations on getting the club up and running. Perseverance was the operative word. Part B… Our past Presidents will take the stage and briefly inform us about successes and challenges during their terms. You may also sense the passion these gentlemen have for the club. Part C… Finally, we will break off into table groups where small groups will tackle a brief survey that should provide the club with some future direction for continued success. 10am. To be followed by Live Questions June 20th. T.B.A.: The Donkey Sanctuary Presentation: The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada rescues and rehabilitates donkeys, mules and hinnies who have been neglected, abused or otherwise need Sanctuary. We also provide resources and education to the public and the equine world about the unique traits and needs of donkeys and donkey-hybrids. Bio: The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada was founded in August 1992 by Sandra Pady in Puslinch, Ontario with the vision of creating a sanctuary where donkeys, mules and hinnies could live free from neglect and abuse. Making international connections Though initially, Sandra had not considered the possibility of their farm becoming a sanctuary. It was only after friends mentioned there were several donkey sanctuaries in England that she started to research them and to write letters requesting information. Dr. Elizabeth Svendsen, founder of The Donkey Sanctuary in Great Britain - the world’s largest donkey sanctuary - replied immediately to Sandra’s queries, encouraging her to start a sanctuary in Canada. In addition, Dr. Svendsen provided helpful advice about organization and fundraising. 10am. To be followed by Live Questions. |
