ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 9am – Coffee Time 9:30am – AGM 10-11am – Round Table Discussion 11:30am – Annual Members Luncheon June 25th. Tony Saxon: Sports Journalism Presentation: A discussion about the change from print media to online media. A discussion about the upcoming Memorial Cup. This will be a question and answer session, not a presentation. Bio: Tony Saxon has been a journalist in Guelph for most of the past 37 years. Born in England and raised in Acton, after starting out of school at the Guelph Mercury, he worked for three years at the Charlottetown Guardian before returning to Guelph. He has covered everything from high school sports to provincial legislatures. He has also been recognized with awards for both his photography and writing. When the Guelph Mercury closed in 2016 Tony joined a new enterprise called GuelphToday, part of a growing network of online news sites under the Village Media banner, a company out of Sault Ste. Marie that now has 18 owned and operated news sites. He is currently the regional editor of four of those sites, with most of his attention focused on GuelphToday. Tony also has covered the Guelph Storm hockey club for the past 23 seasons. 10am. |
