July 7th. - Mike Marcolongo: The Case for Expanding the Green Belt in Southwestern Ontario (Meeting to be held in the Sanctuary)
    
 Presentation:

​Mike will be providing well reasoned arguments to expand the Green Belt in response to the many demands and limited resources. Guelph and future development will be featured in the presentation.

Bio:
 
Mike Marcolongo is a long-time resident of the City of Guelph. He attended grade school and high school in Guelph before heading to Toronto for a degree in Environmental Studies in 1994. Following graduation, he worked for various non-profit organizations including Evergreen in Vancouver, the Canadian Environmental Network in Ottawa and the Guelph Community Health Centre. Mike also worked for United Nations' Childrens' Fund (UNICEF) in both Romania and Moldova. 

Mike is passionate about the bettering the community we live in. He has worked with the Clean Water Coalition to push for the protection of the Hanlon Creek Watershed, was a founding member of Protect Our Moraine that advocates for stronger environmental protections in the Clair-Maltby Secondary Plan and recently helped launch the Greenbelt West Coalition that is pushing for an expanded Greenbelt West of the Niagara Escarpment.

July 21st. -  Soren Sondergaard:
                           Viking History (Meeting to be held in the Sanctuary)
 
Presentation: 

We all  think of the Vikings as wild bunch sailing and rowing across the North sea.
But there is quite a bit more to the story when one looks at the ones that  went east and also to Island , Greenland and even Canada. Rough Warriors but also traders. 



 
​Bio:
Soren was born in Denmark and grew up on his family's farm.
Served in the Danish Air Force from 1957-1958
Graduated from Hammerum Agricultural School in 1959
Immigrated to Canada in 1959
Married to Lis Hansen in 1963 and has three children
Became a Canadian Citizen in 2003

Technical Manager CAB AB Management Guelph, Ontario

Retired in 2003
Since retirement Soren has been involved in many activities and projects.
He was President of his own company, Nutrican Trading Inc. And
Canada Consult serving the food industry.

Soren is also involved with the Danish Lutheran Church Toronto (Past President of the Board) Kortright Presbyterian Church Guelph (Past Chair Finance and Maintenance)

Soren is also involved with Sunset Villas in Crieff Ontario and has held many positions in the management of the organization.

Soren is a past President of the Royal City Men's Club

RCMC Live Coffee Morning Reservations have been made at the following locations.

9:30 am  at  The Boathouse Tea Room (116 Gordon St, Guelph)  

9:00 am or before the Airpark Cafe (50 Skyway Dr, Guelph) - 
The AirPark Cafe serves a full breakfast and they open at 7am so you for early risers, you can go anytime after 7am.


There will be an Ad Hoc after coffee walk available at the boathouse. Please join us
