Meeting Minutes - Steven Pinker/Julian Sale: Ted Talk;Is the World Getting Better o Worse - December 13th. 2018
The last General Membership meeting for 2018 began at 9:55 with Past-President, Ed Herold, chairing. Ed opened the meeting by announcing the passing of a former member, Ron Osbourne.
A special welcome was extended to Julian Sale who is leading today’s presentation of a TED Talk conducted by Steven Parker.
Announcements Next meeting – the first meeting in 2019 will be January 10th with Jim Mottin on Animal Adventures.
Coffee Gathering – Andy Curtis - Next Thursday, December 20th at Symposium Restaurant
Activities – Ray Biffis - Christmas Luncheon last week at Victoria Golf Course Clubhouse was enjoyed by all who attended with special thanks to the DJ, Ritchie Zelk; - Valentine’s Day Dinner is schedule at Ben Thanh Restaurant on Woodlawn Rd. for $20 per person with a maximum of 38 people - Guelph Art Gallery visit is scheduled for Wed., January 30, 2019 @ 10:00 am. This will be a private viewing, closed except for us. Spouses are invited to attend.
Nominations for Board positions in 2019 – Ed Herold - Nominations are being accepted for candidates to the Board following the AGM in June, 2019. Submit nominations to anyone on the Nominations Committee comprised of Ed Herold, David Wallace, Julian Sale and John Proctor.
