I have led tours to the Canadian Arctic, Greenland and southern Ontario as well as 9 safari tours to Kenya and Tanzania. I have also led two tours of the Galapagos Islands, a Royal Ontario Museum tour to South Africa and a tour to Namibia, Botswana and Victoria Falls. My last tours were to Sri Lanka and The Gambia in February, 2017 and wil be doing a University of Guelph alumni tour to Namibia in October 2017. I am also a consultant for Chirp and ChickaDEE magazines.
My other naturalist pursuits include sketching, wildlife watching and cottaging. I also play basketball and soccer regularly. I'm also good at making a fool of myself by making bird calls. Presentation Description
Come and explore the natural world through the eyes of a nature geek. My career as an interpretive biologist has allowed me to visit many of our planet's different ecosystems to watch a wide variety of wildlife species. Whether it is scaled, feathered or furred, I want to watch it and I think you will, too.
Chris Earley Chris took us on journey all over the world looking at things from a naturalist’s viewpoint. He showed numerous pictures of flora and fauna including birds, animals, fish and sea creatures, amphibians, snakes, insects, beetles, and spiders.
He showed us pictures from the many places and landscapes he has visited across the planet, many of which are included in the numerous books he has written, and explained some of his reasons for his love of nature. He relayed some of the quite interesting adventures generated by places he has been to. Chris is quite adept at telling stories and as such he believes in keeping children interested and connected to nature.
To conclude his presentation, Chris demonstrated his amazing ability to replicate numerous bird-calls. He then responded to questions from the membership.
Julian Sale thanked Chris for his presentation and presented him with a token of our appreciation which Chris asked be donated to the University of Guelph Arboretum.
